New fixed-bed layout added to top-performing new Challenger range

08/12/2005

Building on record sales of its prestigious 2006 Challenger range, the Swift Group has announced the addition of a new fixed bed layout.

The all new Challenger 540, with a layout similar to Bailey's Senator Indiana, will be launched at the National Boat, Caravan & Outdoor Show being held at the NEC in Birmingham from 18-26 February 2006.

It offers the same fixed-bed accommodation as the famous Challenger 500 but the four-berth layout is more open-plan, giving a greater feeling of space. This is further enhanced by the additional width of 7'6" overall compared with 7'4" of the other Challengers.

Sales of the all new Challenger range are a staggering 80% up on last year. Commenting on this, Swift Group Sales and Marketing Director Richard White said: "We have given Challenger owners a powerful reason to change and we are winning customers from other brands.

"Challenger buyers appreciate the sophisticated styling inside and out, the top specification level and the high security provision.

"Early season sales have been amazing and production is now sold out into the spring. Customers wanting delivery before Easter need to place orders with dealers quickly to make sure we can plan production and avoid disappointment."

High specification features include an inbuilt microwave oven, radio/CD/MP3 player and 107-litre digital control fridge. Security features include the AL-KO Secure portable wheel lock and a passive infra-red alarm system.

There are now nine layouts in the range, including the new Challenger 510 with fixed twin beds and the Challenger 500 – the first model in the UK with a fixed double bed, launched by Swift in 1999.
