All new Challenger and Conqueror packed with new added value

07/09/2005

Following a radical re-design, the new Swift Challenger and Conqueror ranges are set to become the most sought-after tourers on the market with solid, detailed design and an outstanding level of finish. Setting new standards in safety, design and sophistication, both ranges provide a new fixed single bed layout, new contemporary interiors and a specification enhanced to its highest level ever.

Heightened exterior specification includes stylish 15” alloy wheels, Status 530 directional aerial and an AL-KO Secure portable wheel lock. The smart restyled front panel is more aerodynamic and neatly finished with stylish new graphics and distinctive Swift badge.

The all-new interiors enjoy seamlessly coordinated style with modern new upholstery and new wood colour in Tanganica Walnut. Large upper lockers have been restyled and constructed from spaceframe technology making them precision-built with improved strength. This same technology has enhanced bed frame construction too, which now provides convenient full-width access flaps to spacious underseat storage.

Upgraded kitchens provide increased worktop space, a new 107 litre digitally controlled fridge with salad drawer and full-width freezer, inbuilt microwave, new sink unit and slide-out storage rack. Other interior improvements include a radio/CD/MP3 player and larger freestanding dining table, which comfortably seats four. Security is enhanced with a new passive infra-red alarm system with tilt sensor and all fully-fitted washrooms provide separate shower areas or cubicles.

The Conqueror has a brand new layout, the 655 with two permanent single beds and the 650 has been revised to offer permanent rear bunk beds.

The Challenger has one new layout, the 510, with two permanent rear single beds, whilst all other models have been lengthened to create more space, especially in kitchen areas.

Meanwhile, the Charisma range has a revised 570 layout which features a rear shelved corner wardrobe and a window for each of the two rear bunk beds.

All Charisma models enjoy a larger fridge and some models benefit from a new washroom design, which has a washbasin and mirror on a wall that pivots to create a dry area for the washbasin and toilet and a wet area for the shower. This range has enjoyed great success following its redesign last year.

Stunning Challenger gets new aerodynamic exterior and contemporary interior

The all-new 2006 Challenger has a brand new exterior and interior and an increased level of specification.

There are eight superb models to choose from in this flagship range including the new 510 with two permanent rear single beds. The 470 offers a new rear washroom layout while the 490 layout has been revised to offer front and rear parallel lounges and the 520 and 530 have been lengthened to give larger kitchens and more useable space.

The 7’4” exterior has a new smooth, aerodynamic GRP front panel and a distinctive new Swift badge. New silver and burgundy graphics and a new Status 530 directional aerial, easily positioned for the best signal in all areas, exclusive new 15” alloy wheels, an AL-KO Secure portable wheel lock, heavy duty corner steadies and an AKS 3004 stabiliser to help prevent “snaking”.

For 2006, this superb range has new soft furnishings in Bolero Beige and new furniture in a Tanganica walnut colour. Lockers and seats are stronger and precision-built thanks to spaceframe technology, which allows easy access to underseat storage via full front access flaps. This technology has also enabled reading lights and cable runs to be built-in.

A chest-of-drawers with self-closing runners, conceals a useful fold-out table while a larger free-standing table has plenty of room for four place settings.

For entertainment purposes there is a radio/CD/MP3 player fitted as standard and a socket and wiring for an optional DVD player.

Other features to enhance the Challenger interior, include a ceiling light feature, Omnivent extractor fan and rooflight, and framed windows with pleated blinds on the sides and rear. Loose-fit carpets are easily removed for cleaning.

Kitchen space is optimised by clever design and storage solutions including a new sink unit with larger centre cupboard, which provides more worktop space as well as pull-out chrome wire baskets and a wider cutlery tray.

The 107-litre fridge with stylish curved door and digital controls also has a salad drawer and full-width freezer compartment. A dual fuel hob with three gas hotplates and one electric hotplate, to save gas if needed, has a gas grill and full size oven. A microwave oven comes as standard.

New washroom design in some Charisma models

The popular Charisma range, which has nine layouts, goes from strength to strength thanks to its winning combination of style and specification. A revised layout in the 570 features a new rear shelved corner wardrobe, with a window for each of the two rear bunks and table storage now next to the side dinette.

The twin axle 590 offers family accommodation for up to six with end washroom and fixed side bunks while the 535 is a shorter fixed bed model, which is ideal for smaller cars. The 220 has a rear ‘L’ shaped kitchen.

New contemporary graphics enhance the 7’4” wide, glacier white bodyshell, which has a smart rear panel with attractive light clusters and high level brake light and individually designed alloy wheels feature an attractive Swift badge on the centre bosses.

An AKS 3004 stabiliser helps prevent “snaking” and there is an AL-KO “Euro” hitch with two-way assisted handbrake. To give more clearance for manoeuvring, the jockey wheel stores away inside the A-frame moulding and a wet locker with external access door is ideal for wet and muddy items.

Fidji red soft furnishings with two bolster cushions and two scatter cushions, to use as armrests or pillows, create a comfortable interior. The inside is light and airy thanks to a clear, opening, panoramic Heki rooflight mounted in the lounge. Some models are fitted with a second one.

Spaceframe technology ensures lockers and seats are strong, and precision-built and offers easy access to spacious underseat storage via full front access flaps. It also enables reading lights and cable-runs to be built-in. In addition, the impressive interior offers full height door flyscreen and loose-fit carpets, which are easily removed for cleaning.

Kitchens includes a range of impressive features including a 107 litre electronic ignition fridge with stylish curved door, which has plenty of room inside along with a removable salad drawer, full-width freezer compartment and single energy selector which enables the selection of either gas, 12V or 230V electric by turning just one switch.

The dual fuel hob has three gas hotplates and one electric hotplate to save gas if needed, as well as a gas grill and full size oven. Chrome effect taps and colour co-ordinated elipse kitchen lights add to the contemporary look.

Double bed frames are aluminium, making them strong and lightweight and providing easy access to generous underbed storage. Some models have a new washroom featuring a washbasin and mirror on a wall, which pivots, creating a dry area for the washbasin and toilet and a wet area for showering. All models now have separated shower areas.
