Two new models including first twin axle join the Sprite range

07/09/2005

Building on its successful relaunch last year, Sprite introduces two new layouts, taking the range to four.

The six-berth Quattro, the first twin-axle in the range, offers superior space and comfort including long front seats, fixed bunk beds and a large washroom at the rear.

The Major 6, which sleeps up to six, widens the choice in this popular range by offering a large front seating/sleeping area, rear bunks, which convert for storage of large items, and a second central dinette, which converts to the 5th and 6th bunks.

All models benefit from spaceframe technology on seats and lockers, which makes them precision-built and strong. It also enables reading lights and cable runs to be built-in to lockers and allows easy access to plenty of storage space underneath seats.

Sprite tourers are ideal for young families and couples on a budget and provide all the basic features needed for exploring the outdoors. All four models in the 2006 range offer a touch of continental flair.

Four versatile layouts make Sprite range even more desirable

The new Major 6 and twin-axle Quattro aim to ensure this successfully relaunched brand has a layout to suit everyone.

The Sprite’s 7’4” wide, glacier white exterior is built on a lightweight, galvanised steel AL-KO chassis with euro-axle and an AL-KO “Euro” hitch with two-way assisted handbrake. An AKS 3004 stabiliser to help prevent “snaking” comes as an optional extra as do individually designed alloy wheels with Sprite badges on the centre bosses and a spare, steel wheel and carrier.

This tourer’s attractive front panel incorporates a large single window and the lower rear panel houses light clusters and high-level side marker lights.

Other features include TV aerial and booster, door flyscreen and a clear, opening, panoramic Heki rooflight with blind and flyscreen, mounted in the lounge. All windows are fitted with blinds and flyscreens.

Inside, lockers and seats are made from spaceframe technology, which is strong and precision-built and allows reading lights and cable-runs to be built-in. It also provides generous storage space underneath seats with easy access via the full-front access flaps.

Kitchens are modern with domestic style appliances including a 107-litre piezo ignition fridge with a stylish curved door, salad drawer and full-width freezer compartment. The cooker has a full size thermostatic oven, gas grill and a dual fuel hob with three gas rings and one electric ring, to save gas if needed. There is a freestanding table with dedicated storage area.

Aluminium double bed frames are strong and lightweight and offer easy access to generous underbed storage space. Dedicated permanent bunk beds in the Major 6 and Quattro have a fixed ladder and lighting and most beds have sprung beech slats for added comfort. Soft furnishings are in Prussian blue with a subtle white and gold check pattern and loose-fit carpets are easily removed for cleaning.

Washrooms feature a Thetford toilet with independent tank and manual flush, chrome finish shower equipment and microswitched chrome finish lever mixer tap.
