In recognition of the need for increased environmental awareness and responsibility across the globe, the Swift Group, the UK’s largest manufacturer of touring caravans and motorhomes, has released its comprehensive environmental policy for 2003, which will be available for public viewing.
As a market leader, the Group has for many years endeavoured to improve its environmental performance by putting into place various procedures to govern all areas of its manufacturing process in an ecologically sound way. This includes the selection of environmentally friendly materials used in the construction of its products, and continuous assessment of the impact of its acts and emissions on the local community.
Wherever practical, Swift uses recycled products and materials in its manufacturing processes, and ensures that the residue of any environmentally sensitive materials used is disposed of in a safe, acceptable manner.
Swift is also looking at the wider picture by encouraging environmental awareness amongst employees, customers and suppliers, with the intention of working towards a long-term environmentally friendly future.
Tony Hailey, Managing Director of the Swift Group said, “As a company, we consider all legal and professional requirements relating to the environment a minimum standard of achievement and we aim, as far as possible, to exceed them, and to set a standard of environmental excellence.”
He continued, “Caravanning is all about enjoying the great outdoors. It’s our responsibility to do as much as we can to help protect the natural world.”
